records error events or critical information. Error
events written into a log file often provide a warning
of a critical failure that has occurred (or is about
to occur) and if not attended to may result into a catastrophic
application error or loss of data.
E.g. most back-up software products write to a log
file confirming the files that have and have not been
backed-up in the most recent back-up schedule. Masicorp's
