| The Masicorp System Health Monitor
provides for four key components of a PC / Server system
to be monitored. Thresholds can be set and if such thresholds
are achieved or exceeded an alert is generated. An alert
can be in the form of an email supplying further information
in regards to the achieved or exceeded threshold or
an SMS alert.
The system components that may be monitored
are:
Minimum available free space of fixed disk drives
Minimum available system RAM
Minimum available page caching file available
Maximum average CPU utilisation as a percentage
Based on the monitoring of the above parameters a user
or administrator can determine if the system requires
minor configuration changes or the addition of more
hardware such as RAM. In the event that the CPU utilisation
is constantly high it may suggest that the system is
running a CPU intensive application and a better performing
processor may be required to increase system performance
alternative a rouge process may be consuming valuable
CPU resources.
The type of alerts generated (eg. email or SMS) and
to whom such alerts are sent are also customisable parameters.
